Connector & Place Development Manager
Fixed Term Contract for 1 year with opportunities to extend.
Background
Knaresborough Connectors began in 2019 with the aim of connecting people in our town to others with similar needs/interests, and to community groups that could both benefit from and support those people. It is now the Community Support Organisation (CSO) for Knaresborough and surrounding villages to meet people’s needs associated with the COVID19 pandemic. From its small beginnings it has flourished into a busy network of committed individuals and groups co-ordinating the town’s response to the crisis.
As part of its goal to establish a local sustainable asset based community development organisation, it is looking to appoint an ambitious, well organised and effective Manager to work alongside, and gradually assume some of the responsibilities, of those who have spearheaded the COVID19 response.
The post will be hosted by a local business, the Whole Systems Partnership (WSP), who consult into the health and care system on a range of strategic challenges, including the development of Place and the contribution that the wider community can and should make to the health and wellbeing of local communities. There will be opportunities for the post-holder to contribute to the work of WSP on the basis of sharing good practice in the development of the Connectors project.
Your direct reporting responsibilities will be to the current Senior Connectors Development Manager but you will also work closely with the COVID19 Coordination Group and any successors to this. A Business Plan is in development, which you will work to deliver. Whilst WSP will be the host organisation for the post, Knaresborough Connectors is funded through a Charitable Trust whose Trustees and advisory groups will steer and oversee the development of the project. The successful candidate will therefore need to understand and follow the ethos statement of Knaresborough Connectors as approved by the Trustees of the Charitable Trust.
Salary: £25-30k pa depending on experience. Fixed Term for one year with opportunities to extend. Part-time working considered. Flexibility on hours worked is desirable.
