Claire has worked in healthcare for over 30 years predominately in Palliative and End of Life Care covering clinical, managerial, and quality improvement roles within the NHS and 3rd sector. Leading national programmes and independent reviews including the NHS End of Life Care Programme which supported the implementation of the National End of Life Care Strategy for England and a review of the National Choice offer for end-of-life care in England.
Claire has expertise in working with people with personal experience, community engagement and developments nationally including Dying Matters which she led for 3 years.
More recently Claire has been working independently supporting health and social care organisations in a variety of aspects relating to palliative and end of life care, alongside being a Visiting Researcher at the University of Cambridge Palliative and End of Life Care Research Group and a Visiting Fellow at the Open University.
