A project was undertaken between April and June 2016 for the Integrated Care Closer to Home team in Northamptonshire using the SWiPe^tm Framework to examine the future workforce requirements within  the health community to care for those ‘Over 50 with three or more co-morbidities’. A system dynamic model was built and tested. It suggested the requirement for a 13% increase in workforce over the next five years to cope with the demographic changes and a further increase in 11% to ensure the shift of care closer to home.
